Freundeskreis Mühle Sachsendorf e. V.

The Freundeskreis Mühle Sachsendorf with its around 20 members are primarily working on the existing Post mill to be preserved in Sachsendorf for the following generations.

A basic build-up from 1991-1994 was achieved through the association. Since then, the members have been taking care of the listed maintenance and repairs of the post mill. This amazing cultural monument, visible from afar, is open to school classes, associations and interested citizens to visit and to get to know the mill technology. Since 1994 with the introduction of the German Milling Day, the Mill Association has organized two mill festivals a year. The association offers numerous activities for the German Milling Day on Whit Monday and for the Open Monument Day on the first weekend in September. Furthermore, you can take part in the prizes bowling on the semi-automatic bowling alley built in 2001. A changing cultural program ensures a cozy get-together.

The well-being of the guests is taken care of. Information can be found on the homepage of the "Freundeskreis Sachsendorf" and in the showcases. Furthermore, the residents of Sachsendorf are informed by flyers.

Rooms and events

The association Freundeskreis Mühle Sachsendorf moved into the new premises on the upper floor of the Sachsendorfer elementary school in September 2021. Walls and ceilings were produced on their own initiative in such a way that they could now be redesigned in color. The move into the room, which is intended for the meetings / get-togethers, is imminent.

A big thank you goes to the company Zithier - master painter André Brüche who easily sponsored the wall and ceiling paint.

The traditional association from Sachsendorf organizes events every year on Whitsun and on the day of the open monument. With delicious small dishes such as buck and grilled sausage and a cake bazaar, there are also non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks for a small fee. In the course of the events there are also guided tours through the post mill. Children and young people are also welcome. There are also numerous activities for the younger generation in the future.

Furthermore, the winner is played in bowling and awarded at the end of the day.
